The life cycle of a butterfly is an extraordinary thing to see. When you watch the butterfly from birth to destination, if you somehow judge the butterfly on the first part of its life you will get the butterfly wrong.
Upon birth the butterfly first starts out as an egg. About five days after the egg is laid a tiny worm-like creature will hatch from the egg. Even though it's a butterfly you cannot see its full beauty shining through the body of a worm like creature which is the butterflies second stage.
The second stage is the caterpillar or larvae. In this stage of caterpillar, it is a long creature of whom looks like a striped or patterned worm.
Stage three of the butterfly is the chrysalis. Another name for a chrysalis is a pupa. It is mostly brown or green. It is the same color as the things around it. Things like the trees, leaves, or branches. This is so that other animals cannot see it. This protects them. This keeps them from getting hurt.
Stage four is the changing stage. This is where the caterpillar starts to turn into a butterfly. It starts to look different. Its shape starts to change.
In this stage the chrysalis opens and soon a butterfly comes out.
I bet you are just like the caterpillar. If someone were to judge you on the first half of life you'd be counted down and out. But somehow what you have been shaped and molded into is a beautiful butterfly with vibrant colors ready to show the world who you are.
Now is your time to show it. Even with your uncomfortable self. Step out of that shell and be the greatest version of you.
John Maxwell said it best "“We cannot become what we need by remaining what we are.”
We cannot stay the same. We must continue to grow to find our wings.
